Would anyone like to share your story about how you first got into an art gallery? My goal is to eventually be represented by a gallery, and I'd be interested in hearing some inspiring stories.

Be bold! Have another artist that is in the gallery recommend you, make a follow up call, follow up email... don't let them forget you!
Call the gallery(s) you are interested in and ask if you could make an appointment and if they would look at some of your work (I've heard that dropping in "cold" is not a good idea). The gallery director can look at your work and give you good feedback. Even if they can't take a new artist at the time, maybe in the future. Colored pencil is different and galleries like to show a variety of mediums. I haven't had a problem finding galleries to represent my work. Good luck!
I just read your responses - thank you very much! I'll have to work on being bold... ;)
